The protein contains a 121 residue extracellular domain, a single transmembrane segment, and 2 tandem intracytoplasmic catalytic domains. The PTP alpha protein is ubiquitously expressed and may play a fundamental role in the physiology of all cells. Subcellular Location: Membrane; Single-pass type I membrane protein.
